Sirius is most famously known as the “Dog Star”, due to its location in the Canis Major (Greater Dog) constellation, and it's the brightest star in the night sky, appearing brilliant and sometimes "scorching" or "sparkling". Sirius often flashes rainbow colors due to this sparkle. It’s a fitting subject for this stained glass panel, as all profits from my work go to animal rescue.
I have used a superb central hand-blown rondel created by Michael Crowley. Surrounding it is a “halo” of vintage Uroboros bright yellow mottled glass, and beyond that is confetti glass by Bullseye Art Glass.
Each piece of glass is hand-cut, ground, copper foiled, soldered, patinated, polished and waxed. A very durable zinc frame is added. The work is finally artist-signed in copper plate. And as is with all of my work, it is one of a kind.
