POND LILY STUDIO SAMPLE This large stained glass studio sample affords a tantalizing window into the monumental pond lily table lamp by Tiffany Studios, circa 1915. Not everyone has the room or pocketbook for one of these hand-built lamps (originals of which can easily surpass $750k).Thus, the studio sample is an ideal way to enjoy the pleasures of these rare and beautiful works without the stratospheric price tag. This particular sample is fashioned from both Youghiogheny and Uroboros glass, with a surround of deep cobalt iridescent Oceana glass. The green lily pads are heavily mottled, the background water of varying shades of blue, and the lily blooms of stippled red and yellow. The whole is copper foiled, silver soldered, patinated, waxed and polished. An antiqued zinc frame encompasses the work. It is signed in copper plate. As a fitting finish, a custom Don Scott quarter-sawn white oak frame, with mahogany pegging and through tenons, is fitted.
