The blue planet is represented here by a hand-blown irregular shaped rondel of semi-transparent and whispy blue. Surrounding it are a group of fanciful rondel planets in shades of red, orange, yellow and pink. Smaller fused cabochon planets of red and blue, with 23-karat gold foil fused within, revolve around them all. The interstellar space is filled with rectangles and squares of bright translucent, stipple, iridescent and confetti stained glass to light up the infinite darkness. Youghiogheny, Uroboros and Bullseye glass are present.
This panel has been copper foiled, silver soldered, patinated in copper, polished and waxed to a soft luster. A solid copper frame has been added, signed in copper plate. Integral hangers and chain are included.
As ever, this work is one of a kind. And with minimal care, these panels of glass and metal are made for the ages, with materials that are proof against the ravages of time.
