MOONS OF REMEMBRANCE
As a very special commission to celebrate the life of a very special and beloved pup, this unique Craftsmen lamp uses a small amount of cremains fused into each of the two cabochon “moons”, shining through two delicate webs.
For this work of both fused and stained glass, I have fashioned the cabochons out of blue glass frit, with pure yellow gold foil floating within and encompassing the cremains. The surrounding hand-colored and hand-rolled stained glass is Youghiogheny “Wisteria”, with subtle pale mottled greens and neodymium blues predominating.
The custom quarter sawn Michigan oak lamp structure, built and hand-finished by my frequent collaborator, Phil Myer, includes a real acorn pull and pewter oak leaf medallion. Thanks, Phil!!!

“I have done mostly what most men do,
And pushed it out of my mind;
But I can't forget, if I wanted to,
Four-Feet trotting behind.
Day after day, the whole day through --
Wherever my road inclined --
Four-feet said, "I am coming with you!"
And trotted along behind.
Now I must go by some other round, --
Which I shall never find --
Somewhere that does not carry the sound
Of Four-Feet trotting behind.”
——Four Feet, by Rudyard Kipling
